CANN Forecast provides city managers with water management solutions using AI and machine learning.

Poor water quality and infrastructure management have a direct impact on quality of life. New technologies can help municipalities, but they face major obstacles: lack of time, budget, and expertise in artificial intelligence can hinder them from innovating sustainably, even if the necessary data is available.CANN Forecast provides preventative solutions to two water-related crises. Their technology detects harmful levels of E.coli concentration in urban watersheds, and identifies sources of contamination and at-risk pipes before they break. This helps municipalities prevent water contamination and reduce water waste as well as the associated rehabilitation costs to these crises.

The founders surrounded themselves with a team of experts in programming, computer science, mathematics and water quality. A dozen people work for CANN Forecast, and more hires are planned in the short term. The Government of Canada provided 50,000 in funding as part of the Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions Fast Forward Challenge.
